Hartford Retirement Village (HRV) is a 34-bed not-for-profit facility begun in 1988 on a piece of land donated by a respected business owner with input from other Hartford businessmen who joined in the effort to raise money for construction. HRV is a registered Domestic Non-Profit Corporation with its purpose to provide a facility for Hartford’s residents mainly with affordable living in retirement.
HRV has built a reputation of being one of the cleanest, most friendly and least expensive Assisted Living facilities in the Wiregrass area. As a non-profit, HRV has been able to maintain overall positive cash flow and positive net profit, which is reinvested into building upgrades.
The present Administrator, Janie Shepard, was promoted from Resident Supervisor in late 2019. She, along with long-time Assistant Administrator, Gina Adams, are both Certified Assisted Living Administrators.
The arrival of COVID in 2020 necessitated closing the doors to public for approximately one year. Today, visitation is permitted in the outdoor areas. All residents have been vaccinated for COVID and will receive the booster when available.
